Rescue Medications for DEEs Series – Part 1

This webinar was originally broadcast live on June 12, 2020. We heard from a caregiver about her experience navigating and using rescue medications for DEEs and from two leading professionals working to improve the quality of care for those with DEEs.

In this kickoff webinar of this 4-part Rescue Medications for DEEs series, we hear from caregivers about their experiences administering rescue meds and expert presenters with a leading DEE researcher and clinician.

Our presenters were:

Anne Berg PhD is a Research Professor of Pediatrics (Neurology and Epilepsy) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine as well as a member of the Epilepsy Team at Lurie Children’s Hospital. On this webinar, she shares some results from her recent survey of DEE caregivers across 8 DEE communities about when and how families are using rescue meds.

Elaine Wirrell, MD, director of Pediatric Epilepsy at Mayo Clinic, is a pediatric neurologist and a co-founder of the Pediatric Epilepsy Research Consortium, a multi-center group of pediatric epileptologists who collaborate on clinical research in early-life epilepsies.
